The essentials for a great roast beef sandwich are thinly shaved rare roast beef, a good sourdough bread, a creamy mayonnaise-based sauce and a hint of heat. Horseradish is often used as the spicy component with roast beef, but in this recipe we’ve opted for truffle-infused Dijon mustard to create a sandwich to remember! Why not add a glass of Truffle Hill Pemberton Merlot to round it off nicely?
Lightly toast the bread on one side – or leave it fresh if you prefer.
Combine mayonnaise and Truffle Hill Truffle Mustard and spread on the untoasted side.
Top with beef and sprinkle with salt.
Add watercress and serve with cornichons.
